We are the Sisters of the Sightless Eyes. To the common people we are considered rogues. Travellers with just a bow and intelligence being all we need in this world to survive. Our travels have brought us many places and allowed us to see many wonderful and terrifying things. The stories that have been passed down from sister to sister allows the initiates to succeed in this man's world. Our lessons are told by the elders to the little sisters so they may learn from our mistakes and perhaps, live a life that our elders strove so hard for. One of the greatest lessons the sisterhood learned and thus lived from was one from the land of Khandaras.

Whispers of evil terrors had spread from land to land, kingdom to kingdom proclaiming that the town of Tristram was cursed. A once righteous and just ruler, Leoric, had gone mad they said. Convinced his own advisors were against him he slowly kept confidences with only one. Archbishop Lazarus, a pompous fool and some suggested, a dabbler in the black arts. Believing that his own homelands were set to invade his, Leoric sent his army to the Westerlands for certain doom. |
Soon afterwards his son, Albrecht, had gone missing. Believing that his son was taken by the townsfolk of Tristram, in protest to the war, Leoric set upon the small town destroying most of it and massacring any of the townsfolk he deemed to be withholding information. Those that survived the executions faced certain doom until Lachdanan, the Captain of the King's Army came back from the war with Westerland. Seeing that his King was mad Lachdanan begged the King to step down from the throne. Refusing, Leoric ordered Lachdanan to be executed for treason and a fight broke out between the King's guards and what was left of the army in the town's cathedral, eventually winding down into the labyrinths.
Administering the killing blow himself, Lachdanan listened to Leoric's dying curse that himself and his troops would be held forever in the labyrinths in eternal damnation. Word of the curse spread to those of travelling until the east heard the stories. Sending out a few of our chosen those that returned brought back news of the town still held hostage in terror of the evil that pervades it's church and underbelly. Lazarus, a minion of the evil that surrounds the town, along with Leoric, called the Skeleton King by the survivors, were ruled by an evil perverse and corrupt. |
The evil that was known as Diablo, Lord of Terror, was born again. Once imprisoned in a soulstone by the Cursed Order of the Mortal Horadrim, Diablo took the mortal form of what was once Albrecht, the missing prince. Once again loose upon this world we did that was in our power to stop Diablo from releasing his two brothers. Bale, Lord of Destruction and Mephistro, Lord of Hatred still resided in the soulstones they occupied within the labyrinths of Tristram's church but for how long we did not know. | ![]() |
The lessons that I, Chariss, do so set forth in this book are those that many died for and thus should be revered as not only tributes to our sisters but a warning to all that evil can and does still reign in this day of enlightenment. Go forth and learn from what you will. That is the way of the Sisters. |
